7-Year-Old Girl Survives Knife Attack in Detroit Park
A little girl was nearly stabbed to death in a park — WXYZ 7-year-old Sayeeda Mashrash was playing in Ryan Park in Detroit. Suddenly, a man started moving toward her - and their encounter nearly ended in tragedy. When the man approached the child, Saida said hello. However, the man grabbed the girl by the neck and held a pocket knife to her throat. Brave Saida was not confused and kicked the attacker. The girl ran to her grandmother and afterwards neighbors who heard the screams came to the child's aid. As a result, little Saida was taken to the hospital, where they put twenty stitches. The little girl will have to walk around with a bandage for another week until they are removed. Police have arrested 73-year-old Gary Lansky, who faces life in prison. Law enforcers doubt that the attack was hate-motivated (the suspect's relatives talk about his "mental crisis"), but they are still checking this version.
